Elira stands for trust and purity — delivering some of the world’s most potent spices, exactly as nature intended.
While living and studying in Meghalaya, we, Namya and Shubham, were exposed to spices grown in one of the most pristine and biodiverse regions in the world. When these spices were shared with family and friends back home, the difference was unmistakable — stronger aroma, deeper flavour, and noticeably superior functional benefits compared to conventional alternatives.
What sets these spices apart is science, not storytelling.
Meghalaya’s clean environment, mineral-rich soil, high rainfall, and traditional farming practices allow crops to develop exceptionally high levels of active compounds. Lakadong turmeric from Meghalaya, for instance, contains approximately 8–12% curcumin, compared to the 2–3% typically found in commercially available turmeric or even the 6-8% in Waigaon Turmeric — a difference that directly translates into far greater anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Similar potency is observed across the region’s black pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon, and other spices due to their higher essential oil content and minimal processing.
